About the Job
The Investment Consultant serves as a bridge between investment theory, annuity strategy, and the art of holistic financial planning. Sitting at the intersection of ideas, compliance, and sales enablement, this position helps advisors, teams, and clients see how investment and income concepts connect to broader wealth architecture—from product selection to portfolio alignment to regulatory integrity.
You’ll operate as an internal strategist and educator, shaping how ideas turn into business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in translating between worlds: turning technical investment and annuity logic into compelling, compliant, and client-centered strategies that inspire action.
What You Will Do
Strategize and Advise
- Act as a strategic consultant to advisors and leadership, providing investment and annuity insight, suitability rationale, and structural guidance for planning strategies.
- Participate in advisor meetings to co-develop ideas that create sales opportunities and deepen client engagement.
- Review investment and annuity strategies for logic, alignment, and compliance soundness before packaging for submission.
- Support advisors in positioning planning strategies that integrate both accumulation and income vehicles effectively.
Drive Sales Through Ideas
- Partner with the Ideas Team to craft investment- and annuity-based planning strategies that drive new business opportunities.
- Help shape presentations, proposals, and narratives that connect investment and annuity concepts to client goals and advisor positioning.
- Identify product and strategy gaps within advisor portfolios and recommend cross-platform solutions (fixed, indexed, and variable annuities, managed accounts, structured products, etc.).
- Collaborate with the brokerage and GSD teams to ensure the sales process reflects the intent and reasoning behind each strategy.
Guide and Educate
- Serve as a technical and conceptual guide to the GSD and new business teams, helping them understand not only what to submit but why—ensuring compliance and planning rationale are clear.
- Deliver internal education sessions and workshops on investment and annuity concepts, risk and income theory, and integration into holistic planning.
- Develop field-ready tools, visuals, and reference materials that translate complex ideas into actionable sales conversations.
- Maintain and evolve an Investment & Annuity Strategy Library, documenting frameworks, case studies, and best practices.
Collaborate Across Divisions
- Work with carriers, RIAs, and compliance partners to align strategy narratives with suitability and regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate with brokerage and planning teams to ensure ideas are implemented cohesively across tax, insurance, and investment dimensions.
- Contribute to process documentation and playbook development that supports training, quality assurance, and idea scalability.
You’re the Ideal Candidate if You Have
- 5–7 years of experience as a financial advisor, investment strategist, or consultant in an RIA, hybrid, or B/D environment.
- Deep understanding of fixed, indexed, and variable annuities and how they complement investment portfolios within planning structures.
- Comfort leading complex conversations about portfolio design, annuity suitability, and the relationship between growth, protection, and income.
- Familiarity with alternative investments, private placement structures, and global financial planning.
- Knowledge of Reg BI, Form CRS, and related compliance documentation that supports compliant advice and sales delivery.
- Credentials or progress toward CFP®, ChFC®, CIMA®, CFA®, or Series 65 preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills—able to craft compelling narratives that make technical ideas feel clear, relevant, and actionable.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset that balances creativity with compliance discipline.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with a drive for execution and measurable results.
